Southland Kennel Association


SKA owns and maintains it's own grounds and buildings at Kennington - just out of Invercargill. We rely on a hard working committee and membership for working bees and fundraising to maintain our club rooms in good condition. We have a reasonably large membership for a rural area and our Shows are well supported by members and exhibitors from far and wide. We are able to provide basic camping facilities for a limited amount of campers (mainly mobile homes) and always provide a great canteen and hearty Southland hospitality - occasionally necessary to overcome the elements!

Club Activities

SOUTHLAND KENNEL ASSOCIATION is run by a small hard working committee and supporting members. We hold monthly Ribbon Parades and 2 Championship Shows each year. In recent years we have also held an NZKC Benefit Show in conjunction with our Champ Shows. Committee members also run Show Training Classes for members and people new to showing in the Southland area. Fundraising is an important activity for committee and members, necessary to maintain and improve our Grounds and Buildings and also to host memorable shows with good Judges and Prizes.
