About Me
My involvement in purebred dogs has been lifelong. Born into a family of highly successful pedigree dog enthusiasts, I am the third generation of my family to successfully produce Best In Show winning examples of our chosen breeds.More than 50 years ago the first Pug and Pekingese joined my parents families followed a short time later by the Saint Bernard's. Their love for these breeds has continue ever since and is something that has been passed on to me, along with my fathers love of judging them.
For my 11th birthday, my parents purchased a Miniature Pinscher as my gift. 'Ozzie' (Khanrae Childs Play) is currently still the only Miniature Pinscher ever to have achieved the requirements to gain Grand Champion status in both Australia and New Zealand and by his 8th birthday we had achieved over 14 Best In Shows together.
Between 2008 and 2012, I lived in Australia where I presented and handled multiple breeds across all groups. While living in Australia, I was lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to co-own the highly successful Aust Sup & NZ Ch Sweetess Ice Crystal. Crystal and I won many All Breeds Best In Shows together, Best In Group at Brisbane Royal. Best In Show at the NSW Pug Club and Reserve Best In Show at the Victorian Pug Club shows.
Now back in New Zealand, I am a co-owner of the 'Tai Yuan' prefix along with my mother (Dianne Rogers - previously Shenyang Pekingese), Aunt (Cath Tippett) and my late father (Clyde Rogers). Together we have had a long and successful involvement in breeding and showing Pekingese, Pugs and Saint Bernard's. Our kennel has produced multiple breed record holders in Australia and New Zealand, numerous All Breeds and Specialty Best In Show winners, Grand and Supreme Champions. It is also the home of 3 New Zealand National Dog Show Best In Show winning Saint Bernards. In 2017, our homebred Pug 'NZ Ch Tai Yuan Total Knock Out' also became the first Pug in several years to win Best In Group at the National Show.
Since 2017, my partner Stacy Donaldson, has also brought her love for Standard Poodles into our family and in 2019 the first Standard Poodle litter was produced under our Tai Yuan prefix by Stacy and myself.

I have previously held committee positions on clubs such as the North Island Saint Bernard Association, Auckland Pug Club, Wellington Pug Club, Auckland Poodle Club, Ladies Kennel Association and since 2016 have been the President of Franklin Kennel Association All Breeds Club.
In 2013, I was part of the 'NZ Young Kennel Club Working Group' which was formed by DogsNZ to formulate a restructure plan for the junior division of the organisation. In 2016, I was a key member of the National Dog Show Committee where I handled the advertising and sponsorship of the event. I have a strong focus on health and welfare issues and have spent the last few years as DogsNZ's Pug representative on their Brachy Working Group. In 2019, I successfully drafted and submitted a, breed club supported, submission to DogsNZ proposing the introduction of Litter Registration Limitations for Pugs. The adoption of this proposal would ensure that puppies registered with DogsNZ are produced from health tested parents and the proposal is now in the member consultation period prior to acceptance.
My professional experience is in Dispute Resolution where I have spent the last several years representing my employer in the Small claims Court as the Resolution Manager in their corporate legal team.
Additional breeds which I have had involvement in include Schipperke, Boxers, Fox Terriers, Papillon and Griffons.
