Obedience Ribbon Trial, Test A, Test B, Test C, CANI-qAbout Me
I have been involved with this sport from before some of you were born ( enough said there) and have been judging since 1989.Whilst my first love is obedience I also dabble with Breed showing and have ( in the past ) on the odd occasion been seen in an agility ring.
I started this game with a Springer spaniel but one was enough for me ( as dearly as I loved the little toad) and since 1980 I have owned, loved, run and bred Golden Retrievers. The dog in the photo with me is Ob Ch Goldenglen Aura\'s Kohe CDX . She has (to date) been my most successful dog in obedience, together in the same year we won Test B at the National Dog Show and Test A and Test B at the NDTA. At 13 Kohe is now enjoying her retirement which still includes the odd spot of heel work ( wow watch them wides !) and Sendaway which she does with her tail doing helicopter loops all the way out and back ! I am now just starting to train her great grand daughter Dusky ( Shimmer of dusky at Goldenglen) and at this stage hope to be back in the ring with her by the end of 2005.
I am a life member of the North Shore Dog Training club based in Greenhithe which is 10 minutes north of the Auckland Harbour bridge. Over the last twenty five odd years I have served on the committee as Treasurer and President and I am still currently a committee member and senior club instructor, they just can't get rid of me !
My husband Barry likes to tell people that he has been sending me to obedience classes for years and I just haven't learnt a thing !!
Regards
Ruth
Recent Shows Judged At
Rather than just list a few recent appointments I would like to say that I have had some great times judging at a lot of clubs with some terrific, friendly people that have helped make the hours spent in the middle of a paddock most enjoyable. My most prestigious appoinment and the highlight of my judging to date has to be Test C and Zone 1 Team Trial judge at the NDTA held at Ardmore October 2002.
Made all the more so as it was my own Zone that invited me - If you didn't hear me say so before, thank you guys, it was a vote of confidence I shall never forget.
